　　2012年4月14日托福独立写作范文，政府保护环境和动物资源很重要，英文题目It is important for the government to protect animals and wilderness areas for future generations.

　　Independent writing:

　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important for the government to protect animals and wilderness areas for future generations.

　　With the globalization of the economy and industry, the problem of global warming and the threat towards the environment grows. Individuals have been advocating for the protection of the environment, but I think without government backing, the green movement will not succeed.

　　There is an old African proverb that goes, “The earth was not given to you by your parents, but loaned to you by your children.” I believe that the best way to protect the environment is to think about who will be the ones to come after you. For example, who will be the one to walk through this park after you leave your trash in the bushes? The same can be said for not just keeping parks clean, but keeping parks from being replaced by buildings or highways. Plants are essential in helping reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Without parks there will not be as many plants. While individuals can pick up trash, the people depend on the government to stop businesses from buying up parks and replacing them with buildings.

　　Another example of just how important the role of the government is in protecting animals is the protection of the giant panda. In China, logging companies had almost completely destroyed the natural habitats of the giant panda and the species faced extinction. The giant panda is a symbol of great pride for the Chinese people and many people and organizations, such as the World Wildlife Fund, called for help in protecting these great animals. The Chinese government then stepped in and helped saved the pandas from extinction. Without the support of the Chinese government, there would be no pandas today.

　　The support of the government is also needed, because it is the only entity with the authority to stop private businesses from taking over land. Without government protection of nature preserves, the land could very well be sold to a company. The company then has the right to cut down all the trees and set up polluting factories. Maybe individuals could buy some land to protect, but really only the government has the power to claim land for the preservation of animals and wilderness.

　　The protection of nature is important for the continued livelihood of the human race. This is not just for our own good, but for the good of our children. This cannot be accomplished without the help the government.
