　　很多人都会问：我要怎么开口和老板说我要加薪?求加薪的确是个技术活，说得好，不仅可以获得期盼中的加薪，还可以让老板意识到你的努力和认真，但是说得不好可能给老板留下唯利是图的坏印象。

　　1. Don't bring up your co-worker's salary.

　　不要拿同事的薪水来说事。

　　First of all, you may not have all your facts right, and bringing up your colleague's salary will put your manager into an uncomfortable position. What you should do is compare what you're making to the industry average. Using the industry average will reflect well on you and will show your boss that you've been doing your research.

　　首先，你可能并不知道全部的事实，如果你拿同事的薪水来和经理谈加薪的话，就会把经理陷于尴尬的处境。你要做的是和你所在行业的平均薪资水平作比较。这样做可以很好地向你的老板说明，你是有做过功课的。

　　2. Don't make it personal.

　　不要涉及个人私事。

　　The reason for your raise will be professional, so keep that in mind when you're asking for more. What you need to do is write a list of your wins at work, which will show your boss that you do deserve that increase in salary.

　　你获得加薪的理由应该是你的专业表现，所以你要拿专业表现来说明问题。你可以先列一张单子，指出你在工作中所做出的成绩，用事实告诉老板，你应该获得加薪。

　　3. Don't get emotional.

　　不要情绪化。

　　If things are not going your way or if you feel that your employer is wronging you, don't get emotional. Collect yourself and don't let your boss see that you're upset. Instead, take some time to think it over after your meeting to carefully craft your next move.

　　如果事情的发展不像你预料得那样，或者你觉得老板误解了你，不要情绪化。你应该整理好自己的心情，别在老板面前显得低落沮丧。相反，你需要花点时间仔细考虑下一步该怎么做。

　　4. Don't respond immediately if you're unsure.

　　不要在不确定的情况下冒然决定。

　　If your boss offers you an alternative and not the raise you're asking for, and if you have some doubt about it, don't immediately agree to it. Instead, ask her if you can take some time to think about it and let her know that you'll get back to her about her offer soon.

　　如果你的老板给你提供另外的选择，而不是承诺你所希望的加薪，或者你对某些情况还不确定，那么就不要立刻表示同意。相反，你可以对老板说，能不能给我点时间考虑一下，并且告诉老板你会很快再去办公室找她。

　　5. Don't be inflexible.

　　不要顽固不化。

　　If your company doesn't have the resources or the budget to give you the raise you want right now, there can be other arrangements you can make with your boss in the meantime. Perhaps more paid time off days or the opportunity to work from home — find out what your manager is willing to give you in lieu of a raise.

　　如果你的公司暂时没有给你加薪的预算，那么你可以和老板谈一下，看看有没有其他的安排可以弥补，比如说带薪假期或者在家工作。看看老板在没有加薪的前提下，愿意给你什么样的补偿。

　　6. Don't give ultimatums.

　　不要下最后通牒。

　　People don't respond to threats very well and your manager will not be very happy if you give her an ultimatum. If you have other job opportunities, don't wave them in her face — just gracefully move on if you have better chance of advancing elsewhere.

　　人们都不喜欢被威胁。你给老板下最后通牒，老板肯定会不高兴。如果你找好了新工作，别在老板面前得瑟。你只需要优雅地转身就好。
