　　Should students be required to evaluate their professors at the end of the semester?

　　2016年7月16日托福口语Task 1

　　Describe the advantages and disadvantages of evaluating teachers. Please include details and examples in your explanation.

　　托福口语范文一:

　　Well, there are lots of advantages, evaluation provides the teachers with very good feedback, so they can make some changes accordingly, you know they can change their lesson plan, course material and even make their PowerPoint slides much nicer, therefore, students can improve their learning experience in the class. On the other hand, one cannot neglect the drawback of evaluating professors, some dissent students who are not happy with their grade might take this as a chance to revenge. Thus, evaluating professors might not be very fair, actually they are biased most of the time.

　　托福口语范文二:

　　In my point of view, it’s ineffective to evaluate professors at the end of the course per semester.

　　Firstly, evaluation will influence professors’ mood, they won’t be happy to be criticized publicly about their teaching styles and teaching methods. In addition, they wouldn’t even bother reading the criticism because they think they are all negative comments. If they don’t take the evaluation seriously, they won’t be influenced anyway. There won’t be any change about teaching. Besides, the students who wrote the evaluations did it in a hurry way at the end of the semester, so there won’ t be any specific and helpful comments for professors to read and improve.
