Thesis 总论点The Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are the different individuals.Refute the three explanations mentioned in reading passage.
Sub-point 1 分论点1The Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca have slight coloration difference.The lecturer refutes the point by saying that orcas alter their colors in different seasons. Besides, algae may be responsible for the coloration difference. In some seasons, algae thrive and cover the orcas. Thus it is not wise to say they are different orcas just according to the color.
Sub-point2 分论点2The habitats of the Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are too far away, so they are not the same orca.According to hunting habitat, orcas can be divided into two kinds. One just preys along the coast, and the other feeds on fish groups and always travels far distance to follow migration fish.
Sub-point 3 分论点3The Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are of different age.Orcas’s fins tend to keep same from approximately 20 years old. So the fin alone can not tell that two orcas are different individuals.

　　The reading and listening discuss about whether the Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are different individuals. The passage mentions three reasons to prove they are different individuals. Whereas, the professor totally refutes the three points presented in the passage.

　　Firstly, the professor rebuts the reading’s idea that because the Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca have slight coloration difference, they are different individuals. The professor claims that orcas alter their colors in different seasons. Besides, algae may be responsible for the coloration difference. In some seasons, algae thrive and cover the orcas. Thus it is not wise to say they are different orcas just according to the color.

　　Secondly, the professor contradicts reading’s statement that the habitats of the Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are too far away, and orcas can not travel far away, therefore they are not the same orca. The professor mentions that according to hunting habitat, orcas can be divided into two kinds. One just preys along the coast, and the other feeds on fish groups and always travels far distance to follow migration fish.

　　At last, the passage states that we find the Alaska orca and the Iceberg orca are of different age based on fins, so they can not be the same one. However, the professor explains that orcas’ fins tend to keep same from approximately 20 years old. So the fins alone can not tell that the two orcas are different individuals.
