　　句子插入题是托福阅读考试当中的必考题，每篇都会有一个题目。对有的同学来说，这类题是逢考必错。So，句子插入题的解题关键是什么?!我们应该如何准确而迅速地做对这类题目啊啊啊?!

　　句子插入题怎么考

　　小新想说，其实，第一步我们要明确句子插入题考的是什么。这类题目实际上考查的是我们对于阅读文本当中句间关系的理解。

　　句间关系，简单来说，就是句子之间的关系。常考的句间关系有两种，指代关系和逻辑关系。

　　指代关系是一个句子当中的某个词或者短语指代另外一个句子当中的某一部分内容。

　　比如：“短短不到2公里的长江路上，有总统府、梅园新村、1912历史街区、国民大会堂旧址等民国建筑。这些历史文化遗迹使长江路充满了书卷气息。” “这些历史文化遗迹”指的便是第一个句子当中的“总统府”等民国建筑。

　　逻辑关系比较容易理解，常见的有因果关系，转折关系，递进关系，比较关系等等。这两种句间关系也对应了句子插入题的两种解题方法：指代法和逻辑法。

　　指代法

　　指代法的原理是利用待插入句当中的指代词来确定插入位置。这些指代词有可能是代词，如they/this, 有可能是代词+名词，比如：this migration，也有可能是名词。如果能够找到这些指代词代指的内容，我们就能够将句子还原到正确的位置。

　　例题分析

　　What keeps the black-tailed deer alive in the harsher seasons of plant decay and dormancy? One compensation for not hibernating is the built-in urge to migrate. [A] Deer may move from high-elevation browse areas in summer down to the lowland areas in late fall. [B] Even with snow on the ground, the high bushy understory is exposed; also snow and wind bring down leafy branches of cedar, hemlock, red alder, and other arboreal fodder.

　　[C] The numbers of deer have fluctuated markedly since the entry of Europeans into Puget Sound country. [D] The early explorers and settlers told of abundant deer in the early 1800s and yet almost in the same breath bemoaned the lack of this succulent game animal.

　　There food is available and accessible throughout the winter.

　　通过阅读待插入句，我们可以发现一个很明显的代词：there。结合句意，there应该指的是某一个地方，有食物的地方。那么前一句有提到地点的有两处，一是B选项前面的lowland areas, 另一处是D选项前面的country。既然有两个地方都吻合，我们就需要“瞻前顾后”，看看待插入句放在哪个位置，句子衔接更加紧密，过渡更加自然。待插入句提到了冬天，而B选项后面紧接着提到了雪之类的情景，显然是更加合适的，所以待插入句应放在B选项。

　　逻辑法

　　在托福阅读考试当中，利用逻辑法这种方法来做的插入题比较少。一般来说，当待插入句中出现明显的表示逻辑关系的词语时，比如：therefore，however等等，我们可以利用逻辑法来做。但逻辑法需要理解相关段落所有句子的意思，难度较大，也比较费时间。

　　例题分析

　　Another explanation for the focus on animals might be that these people sought to improve their luck at hunting. [A] This theory is suggested by evidence of chips in the painted figures, perhaps made by spears thrown at the drawings. [B] But if improving their hunting luck was the chief motivation for the paintings, it is difficult to explain why only a few show signs of having been speared. [C]Perhaps the paintings were inspired by the need to increase the supply of animals. Cave art seems to have reached a peak toward the end of the Upper Paleolithic period, when the herds of game were decreasing. [D]

　　Therefore, if the paintings were connected with hunting, some other explanation is needed.

　　很明显，待插入句中有一个因果关系的标志词therefore，而且待插入句的意思是“需要其他的解释”。那就说明前面已经提到了，某个理由不太充分，不足以解释某个现象。这正好对应了C选项前面的一句话it is difficult to explain why…。因此待插入句应该放在C选项处。

　　其实，不论是指代法还是逻辑法，我们最终的目的都是通过给出的待插入句以及上下文，大致推测出待插入句前后会提到什么内容。这样才能又好又快地完成句子插入题!
