  76. Describe some good news that made you happy and explain why. Please include specific examples and details in your explanation.

I'll tell you a good news of myself. I have just received an offer which tells me that I was accepted to be a student of master of luxury and fashion management in France. It is my dream major which I want to learn. I definitely made a great effort to realize this dream. What's more, the reasons why this major means a lot to me is because luxury profession talents are very essential to the development of Chinese local luxury industries. So I really wanna contribute my efforts to Chinese local luxury industries.

【音频】I'll tell you a good news of myself. You know what? I have just received an offer which tells me that I was accepted to be an editor in Xinhua news Agency, which is the most important news agency in China. Every one of my classmates admires me because I am the only one who receives this offer. I dreamed to be a journalist when I was still in middle school and thus I chose journalism as my major in the university. When I graduate from the university, I found it very difficult for a female undergraduate to be a journalist in China, but I proved myself in the end, and got this offer.

  77. Some people believe that first-year college students should live in a dorm building that homes only freshmen. Others may prefer the idea that first-year students must live together with students in 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th grade. Which opinion do you agree with? Explain why.

In my opinion, it is better for freshmen living in the same dormitory with students from senior grades. Firstly Living together offers the students from different grades to communicate more often. This is especially helpful for freshmen. If the freshmen have any problem about study, they could simple go upstairs or downstairs asking for help from their predecessor. Secondly, it is very convenient for students to make more friends from different grades. It can enlarge their personal relationship.

【音频】Well In my opinion, it is better for freshmen living in the same dormitory with students from senior grades. Living together offers the students from different grades to communicate more often. This is especially helpful for freshmen. If the freshmen have any problem about the study, they could simply go upstairs or downstairs asking for help from their predecessors. For example, they will learn which professor is kind who will not give D or F to students from their predecessors and select his/her course, and then got a good average GPA at the end of the semester more easily.

  78. 同意或不同意students will learn more when they have discussions

I will definitely agree to the statement that students will learn more when they have discussion. Cuz firstly, we can discuss with each other, with the purpose of expand our scope of knowledge. Of course, the process of cooperation and discussions could develop our sense of team spirit and communication ability. Secondly, through the discussions, you can know others' problems on subjects, these would avoid you the same problems they have faced.

【音频】I will definitely agree to the statement that students will learn more when they have discussions. Take me as an example, I still remember clearly the spring of 2003 when SARS attacked our city, us students were not allowed to study in the classrooms together, and we had to go home and learned separately by on-line courses. So I have no partners to discuss with, and I got the lowest average GPA that semester. I think that's all because I did not understand pretty well without discussions with my teacher or classmates.

  79. Do you agree or disagree: “The most important lesson can’t be learned in class.”

I agree to the statement that the most important lesson cannot be learned in class. The lesson we have learn in class is some basic knowledge and basic academic skills. What we learn in the society is much more practical and important as well. For example, you will never learn how to deal with the relationship among co-workers in classroom, but it is crucial to manage this kind of relationship if you want to survive in the fierce competition in a company. And this kind of skill could only be taught in the society.

【音频】I agree to the statement that the most important lesson cannot be learned in class. The lesson we have learnt in class is theoretical knowledge. What we learn in the society is much more practical and important. For example, in the classroom, we learned some theories of how to get along with co-workers if we were working for a company. But only when we are in the social environment and work in a company in reality, will we know how to put these knowledge into practice. And practice is a much more important stage for acquiring skills. Furthermore, the society is changing constantly, sometimes, the knowledge we learn in classroom is outdated.

  80. Should the university education be free?

I don't agree with the statement about university education for free. First of all, although it is a right for every student who needs education to enter into universities no matter he/she is rich or poor but free education can cause tension on teaching resources and available facilities. Without any charge of tuition for college students, universities will suffer a great budget and resources pressure. So under this circumstance, an essential measure should be taken by government such as intensify education funding to meet the demand of universities. Therefore I don't think it's wise to make university education for free but it is accessible for university to cut tuition.

【音频】I don't agree with the claim about university education for all/for free. First of all, it can cause tension on teaching resources and available facilities. Without any charge of tuition for college students, there will definitely be an increasing enrollment, which will result in great budget and resources pressure. Moreover, the more college students, the less value of the degree. It may go against the original selective purpose of the higher education. So I don't think it's wise to make university education for all.
