　　1. ■36 Choose one of the following transportation vehicles and explain why you think it has changed people's lives: automobiles, bicycles, airplanes. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. 2. Describe the most efficient transportation in your country. Explain why. Include details and examples in your

　　In my view, the subway is the most efficient transportation in my country. First of all, there are many lines of subway carry people to every part of the country; especially it covers the most important blocks and 65 areas of each city. So it is very convenient for people to take it and go to a lot of place soon. Secondly, the subway number of each line is larger than other transportations. There are even more in rush hours. By taking it, people can go to work very fast and save a lot of time. It is very efficient because it won‟t be influenced by the car jam. There are no other cars, bicycles, and buses under the ground! No doubt, subway is the most efficient transportation for daily life.

　　The most efficient transportation is the bus service. First of all, thanks to the well developed public transportation, it‟s very convenient to take a bus because it is always easy to one stop near you and your destination. In addition, because the road condition in China has improved greatly, the bus can easily run at the speed of 120 km/h. For example you can travel from shanghai to Nanjing in less than 3 hours. Furthermore, it‟s very cheap to take a bus as you travel around china, and it allows you the time to appreciate the landscape of china along the way. You may even get acquaintance to several friends with the similar interests and temper.

　　3. ■19 Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments

　　spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons and details to develop your essay.

　　政府也需要盈利

　　高速公路，是有盈利的。并且有利于促进经济繁荣，进一步增加税收。 公共交通，是政府开销。但是市政府的职责。

　　结合我国情况选择立场。比如：可以认为目前要大力发展高速公路，而其收入可以用来开发公共交通。

　　19、应当改善交通

　　(1)大多数人都需要并没有私人汽车，他们需要公共交通，所以要符合大多数人的需要

　　(2)公共交通能够保护环境，改善公共交通能够吸引更多人坐工车，对环境有保护作用

　　(3)公共交通能够带来更多人的就业，能够更好的促进经济的发展

　　[36]提供了option，但是不能选飞机(为了64公里的路而乘坐飞机有点ridiculous)。 比较“步行(on foot; walk)”“汽车(automobile; car)”“自行车(bicycle)”。 选择bicycle可能更容易写一些。
