  Dissatisfaction with conventional explanations for dinosaur extinctions led to a surprising observation that, in turn, has suggested a new hypothesis. Many plants and animals disappear abruptly from the fossil record as one moves from layers of rock documenting the end of the Cretaceous up into rocks representing the beginning of the Cenozoic (the era after the Mesozoic).Between the last layer of Cretaceous rock and the first layer of Cenozoic rock, there is often a thin layer of clay.   Ecologists are especially interested to know what factors contribute to the resilience of communities because climax communities all over the world are being severely damaged or destroyed by human activities.   而很多同学处在看文章词汇懂,但是需要挨个字看的。这种一个原因是你词汇不够熟悉,需要反应时间,这个的解决办法依旧是回顾背单词。不过单词和阅读可以同步复习。而另一个这种情况的原因是你的“反应堆”意群不够大,这个需要你在阅读中来训练,扩大自己的反映意群。这个其实很好理解,就是像Although her early theatrical career had included stints as anactress, she was not primarily interested in storytelling or expressingemotions through dance; the drama of her dancing emanated from her visualeffects.中,你看那些诸如she was not primarily interested in是连起来看得,一扫而过。但在专业名词比较多的段落、或者词汇比较难的段落你就会变成挨个字的看。
