　　面对托福写作找那个一些比较偏门的题目，大家还是要提前做好素材的储备，思路的练习等等。今天我们整理到的是托福典型的三选一题目中的环境类话题，整理了范文，供大家参考学习。

　　Which of the following three options is the best way to protect the environment?

　　biking or walking to school or the workplace

　　recycling or reusing the garbage

　　eating locally grown organic food without pesticide

　　The statement above asks which of the following is the best way to protect our environment: biking or walking to office or school, recycling the garbage, or eating locally grown green food without pesticide. I choose biking or walking.

　　To begin with, biking or walking to school or our company can really improve the environment. I know this from my personal experience. When I was in college, I had to drive my car everywhere, even if the travel was only 5 minutes on foot. For instance, I lived in this residential apartment with several of my college buddies. I would usually go to their apartment to hang out and to have pizzas together. If I chose to walk, it would take about 5 minutes. But at that time, it seemed to me an “mission-impossible”. I chose to drive every time when I went over, even if I had to circle around the whole neighborhood. The drive was about 3 minutes. Although travel time was shorter, emission was produced. What’s more, later my bad habit developed to the point that I had to drive my car to throw away trash into the dumpster, which was about 20 meters away from my apartment front door. When I come back to China after graduation, I kept on driving to work instead of walking the 15-minute-walk to office. Imagine if I chose to walk or to ride all these years, how much emission could have been reduced?

　　On the other hand, recycling garbage doesn’t make any sense. For example, if you finished eating your fast-food from HEHEGU, what would you do with your plastic bag and the box container? Of course, you throw them away. Some people might argue that you can wash the box container and use it for multiple times. But, first of all, the box is extremely disgusting when there are sauce and leftovers in it. Few people can make the effort to empty the food in it and wash it until it’s clean enough for reuse. Secondly, the plastic box is disposable, which means it is not intended to be reused. I’m not a chemistry major, but who know if the box will become toxic after reuse for several times?

　　Lastly, eating local food without pesticide is impractical for most people, because they are extremely expensive. It is a well-known fact that most farmers use cheap fertilizers to maximum their profit. Because organic or green foods grow much slower than those which uses fertilizers and pesticides, they cost a great fortune in modern China. Eating this kind of food is just too expensive. Most people won’t be able to afford this life-style. Plus, growing green food might actually cost more pollution, since farmers might now have to build protective buildings and venting systems to shield the plants away from chemical haze, which causes pollution.

　　All in all, biking and walking is the best way to protect our environment. (488 words)
