It appears to be routine for overseas travelers to visit museums when they step onto a foreign land. Doubtless, as treasure houses that boast numerous valuable records of a country, they are worthy of admiration and respect from all viewers. Curiosity tempts people to uncover more of the details about the exhibits on display, so they read the attached information. That's just what students would do during the process of active learning. As far as I am concerned, among all the available learning channels, visiting museums does indeed provide people with a valuable opportunity to learn about a country.

First of all, there is no denying that paying a visit to a museum teaches people a great deal about a nation's past. Touring around a history museum is just like going on a magical journey through the ages. Such an unforgettable experience allows one to return to the long-gone past in person and witness what was happening. There is much to be learned and memorized. The world-renowned PalaceMuseum of China, or Forbidden City, is attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each day. As the imperial home of 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties, it has served Chinese Emperors for more than 400 years. Over a million precious cultural relics are on display in this museum. UNESCO named it World ultural Heritage Site. Doubtless, the Forbidden City could be a very good place for people to learn and understand China's past. In fact, museums of this kind can be found in many major cities around the globe, like the British Museum, the Canadian War Museum and so forth. Each of them presents a unique history of its nation.

Secondly, visiting museums can also supply people with ample knowledge about the present agnificence of a country. Ranging from art and science to agriculture, museums truly cover a huge variety of knowledge. For instance, in science museums, demonstrations, interactive programs and thought-provoking media are adopted to explain important scientific achievements. Visitors are given the opportunity to probe deeper into the world of science and experience its marvels. Evidently, this educational andmeaningful tour will be a cherished memory for a long time. Museums of modern art are also worth a visit. With a large collection of paintings, folk art, sculptures, ceramics and metalwork, art galleries present colorful aspects of the country's cultures. Just like an open gate into the mysterious, museums invite people into a paradise of knowledge.

As a matter of fact, in addition to museum visits, there are also other ways to learn about a country. For example, reading books, local newspapers and magazines, watching news broadcasts on TV and seeing documentary films, all these could be made full use of. In that case, everyone can turn themselves into a Mr. Know-it-all.

To summarize, for native visitors looking around their national museums it can help them understand more about their motherland, thus inspiring them to be more patriotic. And for foreign travelers, visiting museums can open their eyes and help them achieve better understanding of the different cultures represented.
