　　Whenever asked about their attitude towards satisfactory career choices, people usually exhibit an air of uncertainty. Understandably, in the face of such a complicated job market which allows co-existence and competition among various enterprises, job hunters must make careful decisions. With regards to the different types of jobs, some prefer to work with more vacation time, believing a job with high salary but less leisure time is not appropriate for them. Frankly speaking, I hold this standpoint with them.

　　To begin with, salary is an important factor, but is not the only one needed to determine whether a job is good or not. Many other elements should also be taken into consideration, including working environment, interests,skills, work-related values, personality, and the potential for future development. Before landing a job, the candidate ought to conduct an all-round assessment beforehand. Thena general plan should be formed in his mind, predicting whether his enthusiasm could last long and whether this field of career offers ample opportunities for development in the future. After all, it is a critical decision that may affect one's whole life, and thus deserves to be made only after one is fully-prepared and alternatives considered.

　　Additionally, freedom is the best motivator for employees to work with passion and a good mood, thus enhancing their working efficiency. It helps them keep a good balance between work and play. Blessed with more vacation time, people will be able to stay with their families and friends more often. Needless to say, maintaining stable ties with faithful friends may prepare one for better chances to extend his career life. And a strong family support system also plays an indispensable role in one's way to brilliant success at work.

　　Conversely, high salary is often associated with high pressure and risk at work. Too much pressure undermines people's health. Less time is available for them to rest and enjoy life. In consequence, people may suffer from sleeplessness and headache. Statistics show that peopleunder heavy workload have a higher risk of heart diseases and hypertension, major threats to the lifespan of modern white collar workers in large cities around the world. Furthermore, excessive pressure may also lead to psychological problems. In some cases, unable to put up with tough tension, some employees may go to extremes and even commit suicide.

　　All in all, the reasons listed above come together to support my viewpoint. With the purpose of starting a satisfactory career, one should not merely consider salary levels. Froma certain angle, it is rational to believe that a job with more vacation time is better than a job with high salary but long working hours.

相反地，高工资通常与高压力和工作风险相关。过多的压力会危害人的健康。倘若休息和享受生活的时间较少，人们也许会失眠或头痛。统计显示，在重压下工作的人面临更高的患心脏病和高血压的风险，而心脏病和高血压是全世界大城市现代白领生命的主要威胁。此外，过多的压力也会导致心理问题。在某种情况下，由于无法承受极度紧张情绪，一些员工可能会走极端，有的甚至会自杀。
