Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In 20 years, people willspend less time on cooking food.

　　Ancient Chinese regarded food as a primary necessity of the people. For thousands of years, the preparations and recipes of numerous cuisines have been passed down from generation to generation. Enjoying a large variety of delicious dishes can be a greatest privilege. Some people even take up cooking as their favorite hobby. However,faced with the fast pace of a modern society, some predict that people will spend less time on cooking in 20 years.Personally, I agree with this idea.

　　Firstly, to comply with the higher demand for social progress, the working class might face tighter schedules. As a matter of fact, there is still a long way to go before the entire human race finally achieves common prosperity.Nowadays, most people are living and working under heavy pressure. In the increasingly competitive social atmosphere,everyone finds they need to devote a large portion of their time and energy to their work. Thus, it may be impossible for them to have enough leisure time to cook. Many people areaccustomed to more convenient ways of eating nowadays. Judging by the current trend, we may naturally expect the pace of life to become even faster in the near future.Consequently, the time spent on preparing food will be less than ever.

　　Besides, cooking could be made much easier with the assistance of advanced technology. We have every reason to believe that in the next two decades, modern science and technology will continue to develop at a great rate.Computer systems may be far more intelligent than those of today. All kitchen equipment might be controlled by highly-advanced micro-computers and their operations will become more user-friendly. People will be able to prepare simple recipes very quickly. Thus, many difficulties can be avoided and cooking will become much more efficient and easier.

　　Furthermore, as the catering industry utilizes these new technologies and cooking becomes a speedy process, it makes sense that increasing numbers of people may choose to dine out more frequently. In the near future, this could result in an increase in the number of restaurants and in the quality of their services. With higher incomes, consumersare likely to visit their favorite restaurants more frequently.A convenient location, a variety of food choices and a comfortable dining atmosphere are all appealing features of a good restaurant and could lead to less time spent on home-cooking.

　　To sum up, I would say we have gathered sufficient evidence to justify this idea that people will spend less time cooking at home in the future. Admittedly, time spent in the kitchen preparing a tasty meal can be pleasant and fulfilling,not to mention the enjoyment of the recipients of the food.However, taking into consideration all the points elaborated on above, it is foreseeable that in the next two decades,people may choose to spend less time in the kitchen and more time eating out.

在中国古人眼中，民以食为天。几千年以来，无数种菜肴的烹制方法与菜谱世代相传。享用各种各样的美食是极大的福分。有些人甚至把烹饪归为自己的爱好。然而，面对现代社会的快节奏，有人预测，20年以后人们用在做饭上的时间会变得更少。就我个人而言，我同意这个观点。

首先，为了迎合社会发展更高的要求，工薪阶层可能面临更紧凑的日程。其实，若想最终实现全人类共同繁荣，我们还有很长的路要走。如今，大多数人都在沉重的压力下生活和工作。处在愈演愈烈的社会竞争氛围下，每个人都会将大部分的时间和精力用在工作上。于是，他们可能无法拥有足够的休闲时间来做饭。如今很多人已经习惯了更方便的就餐方式。根据现在的趋势我们可以理所当然地判断，在不久的将来，生活节奏会越来越快。因此，用在做饭上的时间会比以往更少。

另外，由于更先进科技的支持，做饭程序将简易化。我们完全有理由相信在未来20年，现代科技将继续高速迅猛发展。电脑系统也许会比现在更智能得多。所有的厨房设备也许将由非常先进的微电脑控制，它们也会更加容易操作。人们将能够以很快的速度准备简单的饭菜。于是，省去了很多麻烦，做饭将变得更有效率且更容易。

此外，由于餐饮行业也应用了这些新科技，烹饪变得更快捷，越来越多的人也许会选择更常外出就餐。在不久的将来，这将致使餐厅数量的增加以及服务质量的改善。随着收入的提交，消费者有可能增加光顾自己心仪餐厅的次数。地点便利、多种食物可供选择以及就餐氛围舒适，这些都是一家优质餐厅的诱人特色，这也可能会使人们在家做饭的时间减少。

综上所述，我想说我们已经搜集到充分的证据证明这种观点：将来人们在家里做饭的时间会减少。不可否认，在厨房中烹制可口的佳肴是令人愉悦和满足之事，更不用说享受美食时的喜悦了。然而，考虑到前文提及的所有要点，在未来的20年，人们在厨房里的时间会变少，而外出就餐的次数会增多，这是可以预见的。
