An innovative proposal has been put forward lately concerning a critical choice every high schoolstudent faces. Some people suggest that they should spend a year traveling or working before going to university. Admittedly, this idea posts a challenge to the traditional routine of school education which is supposed to be carried on without periodical suspension. However, according to my perspective, this new attempt might be reasonable.

Above all, one year's social experience will help students make a clearer plan about their future career. Due to the lack of real-life experience, it is difficult for students to know which job best fits them after graduation. Only by experiencing practical work can they obtain better knowledge about themselves. For instance, during the course of working, they might gradually discover whether they are really interested in performing such tasks and whether they are confident enough to do it well in the future.Meanwhile, it is also a good chance to test their personal skills and abilities. They may understand the importance of putting what has been learned into practice. These all enable them to select the most suitable major in college. What's more, their learning efficiency at college might also be enhanced, because they have profoundly comprehended how theories and practical uses relate to each other.

Besides, traveling also benefits teenage students in many aspects. During their high school years, seldom have they been offered the time and freedom to go on a long journey alone. At the moment when they finally finish their preliminary education, instead of continuing with their pressed days on campus, students should spend a longer period of time opening their eyes and seeing more of the world. Traveling could be a best way to help teenagers broaden their vision and witness more diversified images in different places around the globe. In those cases, not only will they become more knowledgeable, they can also take advantage of the traveling experience to train their life skills. Thus, they are likely to become more independent and mature at the time they finally return home and enteruniversity.

In fact, the whole society and the government should strive to establish safer and more agreeable conditions for teenagers to complete a one-year social life with ease. On the part of enterprises, they ought to supply more job positions that specially fit high school graduates so that they can handle given duties more effectively. In the meantime, the government should also try to cut down the traveling expenditures of these students by implementing a series of preferential policies. These may include lower transportation costs, better traveling services and cheaper hotel rooms specially reservedfor students.

To conclude, the progress of society demands favorable renovations in major areas, among which school education deserves more focused attention. Indeed, some weak points exist in the traditional education practices which will urge authorities and educators to try new methods. From a certain angle, it may be beneficial to let students work or travel for a year before attending college.

其实，为了使青少年轻松完成这个为期一年的社会生活计划，全社会和政府应该努力为他们创造更安全、更舒适的条件。对于企业来说，他们应该提供更多的特别适合中学毕业生的工作机会，以便他们更有效地完成被分配的任务。与此同时，政府还应该通过实施一系列优惠政策试图削减这些学生的出行开支，这包括更低廉的交通费、更优质的旅行服务以及为学生特别预留的经济客房。

总之，社会进步要求在主要领域内进行合理的改革，其中，学校教育值得更多关注。的确，传统教育实践中存在一些弱点，这促使政府和教育工作者尝试新的办法。从某个角度来看，让学生在上大学之前工作或旅行一年也许是有好处的。
