Nowadays, it has been a popular trend among modern citizens to move out of their hometowns. These changes of residence will inevitably incur several problems and much time is needed to get accustomed to a fresh environment.Thus, some people are ideologically against such a tendency, complaining that it will cause one to lose old friends. From my view, in spite of such detractors the merits of moving to a new place far exceed its defects.

First of all, more friends can be made in new surroundings. An old saying teaches us the truth that "there are always more fish in the sea." Moving to a different place grants one a new neighborhood in which to reside and a new working environment in which to work.Either in daily life or at work, a new circle of friends will soon be created and maintained. Thus, it should be considered a blessed privilege to gain the opportunity to establish friendships with more people. In other words, good friends are everywhere to be found. For any open-mindedindividual, the process of gaining more friends equates to that of making a bigger fortune. Indeed, there is no absolute stranger in the world. Bathing in a same atmosphere, mutual understanding might be initiated at any moment. Co workers, neighbors and other people in the community are all likely to become good friends. Thus, instead of losing friends, migration paves the way for gaining new ones.

In fact, old friends can still be kept in spite of longer distance. It is a smaller world we are now living in.Communications between people are faster and more convenient than ever. In addition to the traditional methods like making phone calls and sending letters or postcards by mail, new technology has brought forth many efficient channels that can help strengthen friendships across distance.For instance,numerous online instant communication tools have been developed. Among them,the most popular ones include MSN, QQ, Skype, Google Talk, and more. Faraway friends can be reached handily at any time. They can even see each other through video chatting. In addition, with more advanced transportation networks around the globe, old friends can get together inperson conveniently. Just buying an airline ticket can make an old friend show up before one's eyes. Anyway, as long as their hearts are tightly bound, never can distance hinder the stable friendship between people who live apart.

Furthermore, other benefits can be gained from migrating to a new place. Undoubtedly, every city or country boasts its unique cultures and customs. Living in fresh surroundings can enrich a person's life experience and enlarge his knowledge scope. Meanwhile, better job opportunities may be available if the new place is more developed. In that case, the living standard and education quality might be enhanced as well. Besides, one's adaptability to changes is considerably improved owing to changes in living environment.

Consequently, there is no need to worry about losing old friends after moving to a new place. Real and stable friendship should be strong enough to endure the test of space and time. Meanwhile, we ought not to neglect some potential advantages when people are immersed in a different living atmosphere. Thus, ample evidence is available to justify a choice to move away froma hometown.

首先，在新环境里可以结交更多的朋友。一句古老的格言教导我们，“天涯何处无芳草。”搬至异地给予人们崭新的居住社区和工作环境。无论是在日常生活还是在工作中，新的朋友圈可以很快建立并维持下去。因此，拥有与更多人建立友谊的机会是荣幸的。换句话说，好朋友处处可寻。对于开朗的人来说，获得更多朋友的过程就好比赢得一笔更大的财富。的确，四海之内皆兄弟。若处在共同的氛围中，相互了解便一触即发。同事、邻居以及社区内的其他人都可能成为好朋友。很显然，移居为收获新朋友铺平了道路，而并非失去朋友。

其实，尽管相隔甚远，老朋友之间的友谊依旧长存。我们生活的世界变得越来越小。人们之间的沟通比从前更加快捷方便了。除了诸如打电话、邮寄信件或明信片之类的传统方法，新科技也为巩固异地友谊之路开通了多种有效渠道。例如，人们已经开发出无数种网上即时通讯工具，其中最受欢迎的包括MSN、QQ、Skype、Google Talk等。人们可以在任何时候方便地与远方的朋友取得联系。他们甚至可以通过视频聊天看到对方。此外，由于更发达的全球交通网络，老朋友可以很方便地聚会。只需购买一张飞机票就可以让老朋友即刻出现在自己面前。无论如何，只要彼此心灵相系，距离便无法阻隔异地朋友之间的坚固友情。

另外，搬迁至异地还有其他好处。毫无疑问，每一个城市或国家都拥有自己独特的文化习俗。在新环境中居住可以丰富一个人的人生阅历并拓宽其知识面。与此同时，如果新居住地更发达的话，这还意味着更好的工作机遇。如此，生活水平和教育质量都会得到提高。除此以外，由于环境的变化，一个人的适应能力也会由于生活环境的改变而在很大程度上得到加强。

因此，没有必要因搬至异地而担心失去老朋友。真正牢固的友谊经受得住时空的考验。同时，我们也不应忽视崭新居住氛围中的一些潜在优势。因此，这足以证明，离开家乡去异地生活是个不错的选择。
