The expression"Never,never give up" means to keep trying and never stopworking for your goals. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Usespecific reasons and examples to support your answer.

　　The motto "Never, never give up" is frequently quoted whenever a person embarks on an endeavor. Though simple in words, it helps one maintain courage in the face of difficulties and inspires him to continue with his efforts persistently. According to some explanations, this expression means to keep trying and never stop working toward a goal. Personally speaking, I agree with this idea.

　　To begin with, one should never give up any attempts to conquer obstacles in the way of reaching a goal. In other words, it is a must to keep trying before successes and solutions are found. That is the central meaning of this expression. By no means can those who surrender to temporary failures or difficulties obtain final success. In fact,such a strong spirit has kept many notable figures company throughout their lifetimes. For instance, if Thomas Edison had given up his experiments after his numerous trials and setbacks, he would never have succeeded in inventing so many useful devices for human beings. Therefore, the courage to keep trying is a key quality that brings a personcloser to his ideal.

　　Second, as long as a goal has been set, one ought to stick to it and never give up. To some extent, working without a target is like voyaging on the ocean without a beacon. By following goals, people are not easily lost. Thus,when a person is setting a goal, he has to understand its paramount importance in context. Once it has been set, there is no excuse for him to abandon it. Instead, he should lock it firmly in his heart. If the goal is remembered, there is always hope to reach it. Thus, no matter how difficult it might be to attain, one should never give up a good goal.

　　Actually, this expression can apply in other varied situations. In sport, cheerleading teams often shout out these words, or express this idea, to encourage the participants to keep working and competing courageously.In the classroom, when a student has failed an exam, a teacher may cheer himup by expressing this sentiment.Thus, a student might go on studying hard so as to succeed in a future exam. At the office, when an employee has not completed his tasks and becomes depressed, his colleagues might use this expression to motivate him to continue in hisefforts. Afterwards, much of his confidence can be regained.

　　Consequently, in order to reach success, one should repeatedly remind himself not to give up under any circumstance. Without doubt, this motto "never, never give up" provides an endless source of willpower. It urges people to struggle for the final goal with unremitting efforts and iron determination. After all, "he who laughs last laughs best.”
