Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Airplanes emit greenhouse gases and in order to reduce pollution, the government should impose an ecological tax on airplanes and use the tax revenue to develop low-pollution transportation.

The environment issues seem quite controversial these days since human expect both as convenient life as before and less contaminants in the air which would cause disease like epidemics. From my perspective, polices concerning adding extra tax on the airline could have a positive effect on this issue, and the reasons are as followed.

First, it is undoubted that any sorts of price-increasing would inevitably cause reluctance of the consumers, resulting in less attendance in the air together with fewer flights releasing tons of pollution in the air. Since the policy adopted from the government is compelling, the consequence would be much more satisfying. Thus, very fewer people would prefer to take the transportation originally causing large quantities of pollution in the air but would rather choose the environmentally friendly ones, like high express trains or subways to some extent. Consequently, the entire scenario would be changed into a more environmentally friendly with much less pollution in the air and better physical condition of the civilians.

Besides, those who usually choose the air are always wealthy individuals among others, meaning they could literally afford the higher price once they indeed still insist on the flights. For reasons including safety and convenience, airline usually charges higher price compared with other sorts of transplantation, like bus or subway, leading someone from poverty areas to never have access to that. Hence, once the government is determined to utilize the price to enhance other transportation, actually, an increasing number of civilians could benefit from that. Taking our city as an example, once the government increased approximately 10 percent of the price, surprisingly, very minor complaints from the public were aroused, since large majority of passengers never minded the slight increase of the price. Hence, the authority successfully did the environment condition a great favor with the least cost.

To put everything in a nutshell, it is quite beneficial for the government to increase the price of the airline so as to largely reduce the pollution in the air and maintain the least loss of the general.
