Do you think that being happy with one’s job is more important than having a high salary?

托福独立口语参考答案

Well, I think having a high salary is more important.

Firstly, to me, a decent salary can bring true happiness. I can use the money to buy whatever I want, like some designer bags or luxury brands. And I’ll be able to do things I like such as traveling around the world or making donations to charities. But if I only get paid a little, I think I am gonna constantly anxious and insecure even though I am perfectly happy with my job and have a strong sense of satisfaction.

Secondly, a good salary also helps me win the respect from others because people tend to respect those who are rich, and this will make me feel good about myself, which is never a bad thing.
