Some students like teachers who are serious and strict with students, while others like humorous teachers who treat students as friends. Which one do you prefer?

托福独立口语参考答案

I think it is better for teachers to have a casual style and treat students like friends.

Because this will help students get more involved in class. I mean, if teachers can use interesting cases to illustrate serious topics, or conduct fun experiments to demonstrate physical theories, students will become more curious and want to know more about things. And this obviously will help them to learn better.

And also treating students like friends would make teachers become more approachable. So whenever the students have any questions, they will not hesitate to ask the teachers for help, so teachers can give them some really constructive advice or provide some emotional support.
