托福独立口语试题

You need to take a history class as part of your graduation requirements, and you have two choices that fit into your schedule. In both classes, only the professor gives a grade to the research papers. However, in one of the classes, the students also read and provide feedback for other students' papers. Which class would you prefer to take?

托福独立口语参考答案

Well, I will probably choose the history class where only the professor grades the research papers.

The main reason is that I think professors know their stuff and they've got the expertise to give more helpful and meaningful feedback. It’s true that some of the reviews from classmates offers me more diverse perspectives, but my classmates might not know the subject as well as the professors. So some of their advice may not work in some cases.

In addition, I have a rather hectic schedule with my homework assignments and part-time jobs, so I might not have the time to spend on reading other students’ feedback and then revise my papers, not to mention reading my classmates’ long essays and then giving suggestions to them.
