托福写作机经:托福写作新题型试题

Doctor Diaz:Some argue that factories, as major producers of pollution and waste, should be pushed to make dramatic changes in how they operate in order to protect and preserve the environment. Others contend that it is the small, cumulative actions of individuals that lead to the greatest impact, so public awareness and altered societal norms are most critical. I would like you to consider: who do you believe should make more efforts when it comes to environmental protection - factories or individuals?

Kelly:Factories should take the lead on protecting the environment because their impact is massive compared to individuals. For example, a single factory can generate tons of pollution per day, dwarfing what one person produces in a lifetime. Strict regulations and greener technologies for manufacturers would lead to huge reductions in emissions and waste.

Andrew: Individuals should lead on environmental protection because we can drive cultural change. By making green lifestyle choices - reducing energy, taking public transit, minimizing waste - we set an example and normalize sustainability. And by purchasing eco-products and ethical companies, everyday consumer decisions incentivize businesses to follow suit.

In the debate about environmental protection, I firmly believe that both factories and individuals should play an active role. While factories bear a significant responsibility due to their large-scale impact on the environment, individuals also shoulder a crucial obligation to modify their behaviors and promote sustainable practices.

Factories, being major contributors to pollution and resource depletion, should prioritize implementing eco-friendly measures. For instance, a study conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency found that industrial manufacturing accounted for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. To address this issue, factories can invest in cleaner technologies, explore alternative energy sources, and adopt waste reduction strategies, thus limiting their ecological footprint and set an example for other industries to follow.

Simultaneously, individuals must take accountability for their actions and contribute to environmental conservation. Although the impact of individual actions may seem negligible when compared to large-scale pollution from factories, small changes can accumulate to create a significant positive impact. For example, a survey conducted by the International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Ecology highlighted that even modest efforts like reducing personal water consumption and recycling can collectively lead to substantial water and energy savings.
