TASK 1

Some people think that children should be rewarded for their effort even if they are not successful. Others think that children are being rewarded too often for anything that they try to do. Which view do you agree with? Use details and examples to explain your opinion.

Sample Answer

I think children should be rewarded for their effort even if they're not successful

because children will learn that they should not focus only on the result but enjoy the process of putting in effort. The most important thing is that they have tried their best and their hard work is valued. And this recognition motivates them to keep learning and also helps to reduce their fear of failure.

For example, let's say a kid who is an introvert signs up for a speech competition. In order to overcome his fear, he spends hours learning how to make eye contact with listeners and practicing as many times as possible. And even if this kid doesn't get the first prize, his teacher can still give this kid some praise for the hard work he puts in. So the kid will be encouraged to try harder again for the next competition.

Your school is going to limit the number of the hours that students can work at part-time jobs in order to improve their academic performance. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?

Sample Answer

I think it's a good idea for the university to limit the number of hours per week that

students can spend working at university jobs. That's because working could actually have a bad influence on their studies since part-time jobs consume too much time.

Students will barely have time to work on their assignments or review the course

materials, which will definitely take a toll on their academic performance.

In addition, spending too much time on part-time jobs also do harm to students’

health. Between part-time jobs, academic clubs, and everything else that is going on, students cannot get enough sleep. So, this will affect the mood of the students and ultimately their health.

Some people believe that if employees have some free time during their workday, they will be more productive. Others think it is better for employees to work all day without breaks. Which do you think is better?

Sample Answer

Well, I think employees will be more productive if they have some free time when

they're at work. The primary reason is that working nonstop for hours can cause fatigue, so employees may lose focus on their tasks and get distracted. This will hurt their work performance. In fact, studies have shown that short, regular breaks significantly improve concentration and help maintain a consistent level of performance throughout the day. So having small breaks is a good way to restore energy and refresh their minds.

Besides, this policy can also improve employees’ job satisfaction because giving

them breaks shows that the company actually values their health. This sense of being cared for reduces burnout and stress, which in turn can lead to a greater sense of loyalty and belonging. As a result, employees become more willing to contribute and engage positively with their work.

TASK 3

ergonomic design
