最新托福听力背景知识：关于火星上的水

　　The traces of several possible Noachian- and Hesperian-aged shorelines have been identified along the dichotomy boundary, but this evidence has been challenged. Paleoshorelines mapped within Hellas Planitia, along with other geomorphic evidence, suggest that large, ice-covered lakes or a sea covered the interior of the Hellas basin during the Noachian period. In 2010, researchers used the global distribution of deltas and valley networks to argue for the existence of a Noachian shoreline in the northern hemisphere.

　　在南北半球海拔落差的分界线科学家们发现了一些N和H时期的岸线(虽然这些岸线的证据被挑战)，在Hellas Planitia发现的古岸线以及一些其他的地质证据都指出了在N时期Hellas盆地的内部可能存在大面积被冰覆盖的湖泊或海洋。2010年，研究者们用分布于整个火星的三角洲和峡谷网络证据来争论N时期北半球的岸线的存在。

　　• Pre-Noachian (Early-Noachian, or Phyllocian Era): 根据研究，科学家相信这个时期colder and more arid (drier)，不太可能有水的形成。更多的证据和研究都集中在Noachian时期。

　　• Noachian Period (named after Noachis Terra): 根据研究，这个时期火星表面出现了非常明显的腐蚀现象(erosion)，还有其他山谷网络(valley networks)，三角洲(delta)等证据证明，这个时期的气候更为wet and warm，更有可能存在水。
