  参考范文:

This Millennium has witnessed people attach more importance to education than ever and our educators have proposed various methods to promote the sound development of children, among which how to spend the summer vacation for a high school student has come into concern. While some people may believe attending university-level courses could be of much more significance as it could better prepare a teenager for college, I am convinced that students’d better use this summer break to visit museum of art and history and write a report about their trip.

To begin with, field trips never fail to stimulate students’ interests in study, for they enable these young people to learn knowledge in a direct and interesting way. In this sense, visiting museums can be beneficial to enhance students’ efficiency in learning and have a better academic performance. By contrast, courses in university, even those of entry-levels, can be too challenging and demanding for high school students, thereby dampening their enthusiasm in study or even in attending college. For instance, I took part in a summer camp and traveled to Egypt two years ago. During that trip, we visited the Museum of Cairo, the largest museum in the country, to learn about the history and art. Most of the students, including me, were enchanted by the mysterious mask of the king, the stunning statues of Pharoah, as well as the ancient language written on papyrus, a kind of paper used by ancient Egyptians. Standing in front of these antiques, we were longing to learn more about the history and culture in this mysterious country; therefore, when our teacher began to present us the pertinent information along the trip, we listened with our full heart and take notes meticulously. I believe I have learned more from this trip than the courses I had taken in classroom. Similarly, I assume if i were required to sit in the classroom and listen to the dull lectures, even though they might be of help in deciding my major in the university, I could be distracted easily and find no impetus in learning.

Besides the benefits brought to students’ study, visiting a museum plays a significant role in relaxing one’s body and soul. A field trip could take adolescents out of the daily routine, which basically merely involves listening to lectures and sitting on the chair all the long. Instead, they would walk out to see the world, be exposed to novel ideas, and come back with full spirit and energy. Again, take my own experience as an example. During that summer camp to Egypt, not only did we appreciate the masks and statues, ancient painting on the stone surfaces in the museum were also introduced to us. The description in these paintings about the underworld was what I had never seen before.Wandering around in Cairo, we also talked with the native people, who held a distinct perspective towards the world, and that provided me with astonishments every day. Each day spend there were filled with surprises and happiness, which made it such a great opportunity for me to recharge my batteries. By contrast, the pre-lessons in university can never be so intriguing. If I had taken courses like that, I may end up with being exhausted before the new terms began.

In sum, although taking subjects of university-level could help one better choose his or her major in the future, namely, in college. It brought more benefits if students uses their summer vacation to have a field trip to a museum of art or history.
