是否同意这样一个结论：在任何关系中，诚实不说谎都是最重要的品质。

注意这是一个绝对词题目，一般来说是反对态度，即：可以说诚实很重要，但不能说它无例外地是最重要的。

托福写作文章框架

1. 开头：反对，总是说实话并不是最重要的品质。

2. 论证段 1：首先，待人能否完全说实话取决于我们是否能完全接受诚实的意见。我们不

总是完全接受诚实的意见，这迫使很多人去说“善意的谎言”来照顾我们的感情。

3. 论证段 2：其次，不是所有人际关系中都要求说实话。比如工作上下级之间，上级询问

意见往往只是想要我们表示一下同意，并不是真的询问意见。

4. 结尾：反对，总是说实话并不是最重要的品质。

托福写作范文

The importance of being truthful and upfront in interpersonal relations cannot be exaggerated, as it facilitates frank and open communications. However, I personally believe that it is too absolute to suggest that complete truthfulness should be observed in all occasions without exception, for the following reasons.

For one thing, the willingness of us to tell the truth, in all occasions, is directly proportional to our ability to withstand the truth. While it is easy to say, “truth will out”, and that we should avoid being deliberately untruthful because we eventually will get caught, our reluctance to face the truth at all time and at all cost sometimes thwart others’ willingness to be absolutely frank. Hence, white lies, lies that cause no significant damage and are intend to protect other people’s feelings, are sometimes necessary, if not actively encouraged. For instance, when a coworker fails in an important project after months of planing and hard work comes us for advice, it is more likely that we will provide an understanding ear and warm comforts,avoiding straightforward criticism of his methods and execution, even if that is what we earnestly feel, because there is no use rubbing salt into the wound, especially if and when that does not change things for the better.

For another, it cannot be said that complete honesty is welcomed in “any” relationship, especially not in those between people of different status. Unlike friends and peers who value our opinions, when talking to us, our employers and social superiors often do not want an actual opinion, but a mere nod, a response, or an agreement. While constantly upholding the virtue of telling the truth over the opposite practice, we see and follow practices such as those mentioned above so frequently that we barely notice their presence. Consider working in an office. So often do we nod at the ideas of other people, especially those in charge of us,without actually thinking things through that almost half of so-called “collective decisions” are 4 nothing more than collective echos of the executive will. Why? Because everybody understands that a questionnaire of opinions is, more often than not, a search for validation, rather than an open invitation for heated discussion.

In sum, although appreciating the importance of being honesty and truthful in a relationship,if the argument depicts it as the most important concern, I would personally disagree with the statement.
